Recognize the early signs when someone is developing a mental health issue
This course is LIFE CHANGING. We strongly feel that every person should have the opportunity to do this course. The knowledge and skills learned really do SAVE LIVES!'
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis.
You are more likely to meet someone about to attempt suicide than about to have a heart attack - so everyone should know what to do.

Improve Your Employee Wellbeing

Fiona Mitchell, Director, Physiotherapy & Wellbeing for Women
I recently trained with Julie Čolan to become a mental health first aider.
It was a great course split into 4 online live sessions with some study to do in between (not much, it was very manageable).
As a women’s health physio I have found myself in situations where I was definitely out of my depth dealing with patients' mental health concerns, and also found it difficult to know what to say to those or where to refer those with more serious issues such as suicidal thoughts.
After completing the course I now have a much better understanding of what my role is, what to say (or more importantly what not to say), appropriate language to use and which health professionals to refer to.
We all keep up to date with our BLS on a regular basis but I think we’re more likely to come across those, in our work and personal life, who need our help with their mental health.
Great course - would highly recommend
